The Benefits of Flax:
Omega-3: Omega-3's are an important part of a healthy daily diet but most diets are deficient in Omega-3s. Flax is one of nature's richest plant source of Omega-3 fatty acids. The oils in flaxseed are over 50% alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). Just one serving of milled flax gives you 2800mg of Omega-3.
Fiber: Everyone needs fiber in their diet. Just one serving of milled flax gives you 4 grams of fiber.
Lignans: Lignans are plant estrogens or phytoestrogens which offer powerful antioxidant properties. Many plant foods have some lignans but flax has at least 75 more than any other.

I stock up on Muir Glen's Organic Tomato Sauce, Paste and Tomatoes - NO SALT ADDED! 
As well as fire roasted tomatoes and pizza sauce.


Delicious sweet mini peppers - purchased at Sam's Club.  Love these peppers alone or diced up in recipes! $4.98  This is my latest favorite healthy food find.  Delicious on the grill, in omelets, or just eaten plain!

Instead of having mashed potatoes, we enjoy mashed cauliflower.  I just place the cauliflower in a glass bowl - and microwave for 10 minutes.  Then I mash it.  You could also add: milk, sour cream, yogurt, etc to make it creamy.  I like to add garlic and sometimes onions, green peppers or green onions.  $0.99 a bag.  I stock up on these bags.
